Autograph-Seeker Sues Pro Wrestler

By Associated Press

PORTAGE, Wis. -- A professional wrestling star who battles in the ring under the name X-Pac may have to battle in court after a man sued him for $500,000, contending he was beaten and kicked when he sought an autograph.

Elias Urbina, 34, claims wrestler Sean Waltman, known as X-Pac in the World Wrestling Federation, beat up on him July 4 at a waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, a popular tourist destination in south-central Wisconsin.

``If he could watch WWF wrestling seven days a week, he would, so he was really excited when he saw Mr. X-Pac there,'' Milwaukee attorney Alan Eisenberg said of his client, Urbina.

Urbina, who was with family members at the waterpark, sought an autograph when the hitting and kicking began.

In the lawsuit, filed this week in Columbia County Circuit Court, Urbina claims he suffered lacerations and other injuries to his face, throat and right ankle.

As a result, he claims, he required surgery, missed six weeks of work and needs continual medical attention, Eisenberg said.

Urbina is asking for $250,000 in compensation, plus an additional $250,000 in punitive damages and any other relief the court will give him.

A telephone number for a Sean Waltman of Ramsey, Minn., was unpublished.

According to an incident report by Wisconsin Dells Police, Urbina had been drinking alcohol and became physical with the 27-year-old Waltman, provoking the wrestler to hit him. Both men were cited for disorderly conduct.
