(and links to other sites with movie info)

This is a list of links to all kinds of random cool movie-related Web sites I have found while wasting valuable time surfing.
Just be glad you didn't have to waste your own time hunting the good sites down. :-) This page is updated constantly (every time I find a cool page) so check it out frequently!
I have watched many thousands of movies. If you want to see my ratings for about a thousand of them (or my reviews for a few hundred of them) check out my movie ratings page.

The highest grossing movies that I haven't seen (US gross as of 2004/07/21). These are all the movies which made at least $200,000,000 that I never saw:
  • Titanic buy $600,788,188 Saw the previews in the theater almost a year before the film came out. When the triler started, I was thinking it looked really good. By the time it ended, it looked really sappy. But pre-teen girls made this the highest-grossing film of all time.
  • The Passion of The Christ buy $370,257,518 I laughed at the South Park buy parody of the movie, but really don't have any reason to want to see the Mel Gibson movie.
  • Forrest Gump buy $329,694,499 I guess I never saw this because I wasn't dating anyone when this movie came out, and it looked to me to be a "chick flick".
  • The Lion King buy $328,539,505 It's a kids movie and I don't have kids, so I never saw this.
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets buy $261,970,615 This was the second one, right? I saw a few minutes of it when my brother was watching it.
  • Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas buy $260,031,035 I'll probably eventually see this Jim Carrey movie--I just never got around to it. I liked the old animated version.
  • Monsters, Inc. buy $255,870,172 It's a kids movie and I don't have kids, so I never saw this. It looks like it might be funny, though, so I wouldn't mind seeing it some time.
  • My Big Fat Greek Wedding buy $241,437,427 This looked like an "I hate men" movie, so I saw no reason to catch it.
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban buy $238,344,679 I'll probably see 2 & 3 eventually. Maybe I'll wait until they stop making them and catch them all at once on DVD.
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park buy buyTrilogy $229,086,679 I saw 1 buy & 3 buy. Not sure how I missed this one.
  • Cast Away buy $233,632,142 This is the only movie that not only haven't I seen, I haven't even heard of it. How did this slip under the radar, yet make so much money at the end of 2000?
  • Aladdin buy $217,350,219 It's a kids movie and I don't have kids, so I never saw this.
  • Saving Private Ryan buy $216,173,322 I'm not a fan of war movies, so I'll probably never see this.
  • Austin Powers in Goldmember buy buytrilogy $213,079,163 I saw most of the first movie buy, but it just looked like Mike Myers was playing a gay version of James Bond buy, so I had no real reason to watch the rest of the first movies, or this third installment.
  • Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me buy buytrilogy $205,444,716 I saw most of the first movie buy, but it just looked like Mike Myers was playing a gay version of James Bond buy, so I had no real reason to watch the rest of the first movies, or this second installment.
The most highly praised movies that I haven't seen (number is the IMDB average rating of thousands of viewers):
  • Godfather, The (1972) buy buytrilogy 9.0 I have no interest in gangster/mob movies, so I may never see this.
  • Shawshank Redemption, The (1994) buy 8.9 I have no interest in prison movies, so I may never see this. I've heard it borrowed heavily from Clint Eastwood's Escape from Alcatraz buy, which I also never plan to see.
  • Godfather: Part II, The (1974) buytrilogy 8.8 I have no interest in gangster/mob movies, so I may never see this.
  • Shichinin no samurai (1954) aka The Magnificent Seven buy and The Seven Samurai buy 8.7 I'm not into this type of movie, but since several elements of Star Wars buy were borrowed from this movie, I may eventually see it for that reason.
  • Schindler's List (1993) buy 8.7 I have no interest in war movies, so I may never see this.
  • Casablanca (1942) buy 8.7 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Citizen Kane (1941) buy 8.7 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Usual Suspects, The (1995) buy 8.6 I've never even heard of this movie; how could it have slipped under my radar in 1995? I just read a review saying the writers borrowed heavily from both Casablanca (1942) buy and Pulp Fiction buy, so I probably wouldn't like this movie if I ever saw it.
  • Buono, il brutto, il cattivo, Il (1966) aka The Good, the Bad and the Ugly buy 8.5 I have no interest in westerns (spaghetti or otherwise), so I may never see this.
  • North by Northwest (1959) buy 8.5 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • 12 Angry Men (1957) buy 8.5 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Lawrence of Arabia (1962) buy 8.5 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list. I did like the DuckMan spoof of it, though.
  • Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Le (2001) aka The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain buy 8.5 I've never even heard of this movie; how could it have slipped under my radar in 2001? From the reviews I just read, it doesn't sound all that good, but be okay as a date movie.
  • It's a Wonderful Life (1946) buy 8.5 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list. I've probably seen close to 20 different spoofs of this movie, and I'd probably laugh even harder at them if I had actually seen the movie itself.
  • Cidade de Deus (2002) aka City of God buy 8.5 I've never even heard of this movie; how could it have slipped under my radar in 2002? I'm not a real fan of gang/drug-running movies, so if I were to watch this, I'd probably end up rating it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Goodfellas (1990) buy 8.5 I have no interest in gangster/mob movies, so I may never see this.
  • American Beauty (1999) buy 8.4 I don't know anything about this movie. I don't remember it ever being in theaters, but I recognize the DVD cover picture. It's listed as a drama, and the short description doesn't sound like anything I'd watch unless some babe roped me into it.
  • Sunset Blvd. (1950) buy 8.4 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • C'era una volta il West (1968) aka Once Upon a Time in the West buy 8.4 I have no interest in westerns, so I may never see this.
  • Vertigo (1958) buy 8.4 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list. That said, I may eventually sit through this one as I've heard good things about it from people whose opinions I respect.
  • Apocalypse Now (1979) buy 8.4 I have no interest in war movies, so I may never see this.
  • Pianist, The (2002) buy 8.4 I have no interest in war movies, so I may never see this drama.
  • Third Man, The (1949) buy 8.4 I liked Before Sunrise buy (though that may have been more due to the fact that I was with a very attractive woman at the time moreso than the plot of the movie) and I've heard it is more than partially based on The Third Man, so I went out and got a copy of it about seven years ago, but haven't made time to actually watch it yet.
  • Paths of Glory (1957) buy 8.4 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Taxi Driver (1976) buy 8.4 This was back before Jodie Foster got annoying, so it's probably one of her better movies. That said, I'm not a big Scorsese fan, so I may never sit through this drama.
  • Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (2001) aka Spirited Away buy 8.3 Wow. An anime gets ranked #43 out of several hundred of thousands of movies? I may have to rent this.
  • Some Like It Hot (1959) buy 8.3 I'm a fan of about half of Monroe's films buy, so I'll probably eventually see this. I bought it over ten years ago and just haven't got around to watching it.
  • Double Indemnity (1944) buy 8.3 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Boot, Das (1981) buy 8.3 I have no interest in war movies, so I may never see this drama.
  • Singin' in the Rain (1952) buy 8.3 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.
  • Chinatown (1974) buy 8.3 I'm not a big fan of Jack Nicholson or Roman Polanski, but both have had some gems in the past. I have no strong desire to see this movie right now, but wouldn't complain too loudly if someone wanted me to watch it.
  • L.A. Confidential (1997) buy 8.3 Hmmm... For some reason I guess I thought this was a TV series, not a movie. I'm not a huge fan of crime/police dramas, but I would watch this if asked to.
  • M (1931) buy 8.3 There are very few movies I can tolerate that were made before 1965. I get the feeling that if I were to watch this, I'd rate it close to the bottom of my list.

I'll be adding more stuff here eventually. Right now I just have some links to Star Wars web sites.
