Hack-Man Movie Ratings

Since some idiot woke me up early today, I decided to go to the noon showing of X-Men 2 with some of the gang.

Before I review it, I must say that (1) I didn't see the first moviebuy, and (2) I never read any of the comic books (my comic book geekiness was pretty much limited to Superman, Bat-Man, Spiderman, and not much more).

I had to try hard not to make wrestling comments about 25 to 30 times during the movie (a Jerry Lawler joke when a little girl is seductively eating an ice cream cone, Rabid Wolverine, etc).

There were a ton of things that just didn't make sense, but I'll just list a few:

1) What, she can't swim? If she can levitate a ship, why can't she just levitate herself above the level of the water?

2) Why didn't she just levitate the ship while she was *inside* it?

3) When they noticed that the dam was breaking, why didn't the German mutant just start teleporting everyone to higher ground?

4) Was the main bad guy Wolverine's father, or just in the sense that he apparently ran some experiments on him?

5) What was the power of the teen gal who stopped pyro from killing the cops?

6) So Freddy Kruger and Mrs Freddy Kruger can recoup from any injury except liquid metal being injected into their body? Why did Wolverine take so much longer coming back from a bullet to the head than from being stabbed repeatedly through vital organs?

Oh well, I was entertained despite all the nagging questions. I'll give it a 8.7 on a 1 to 10 scale. So much better than Planet of the Apes (which I had higher hopes for) that it isn't funny. Hopefully, the first X-Men movie will be available before too long in my NetFlix queue. Patrick Stewart was a lot less annoying than I would have expected.
