2007/05/20: WWE Judgment Day PPV
I'm not going to give "money ratings" to this PPV, since I was
watching on a couple intermittent feeds.
1. Carlito/Flair
Watched on a good feed with no sound. Match was really good with
some nice psychology and selling.
2. Lashley winning but not getting the title.
Meh. Watched on the good feed plus the audio of a backup feed that
was about 20 seconds behind. Match was nothing to write home about.
Interesting to have a world title match be the second on the show.
Of course Vince doesn't think the ECW world title is worth anything
anyway.
3. CM Punk over E Burke
Good match. I see Burke being a better wrestler than MVP unless
Benoit *really* steps up his training of MVP (and he gets new ring
gear).
4. Orton over HBK
Lost my good feed, so I was watching the feed that had audio, but
the video was a bit choppy.
Looked like a throw-away match.
5. Hardy Boyz over Cade/Murdoch
Both video and audio were choppy by this point.
6. Edge over Batista
The feed became pretty unwatchable, but I wasn't looking forward to
this match anyway, since I don't think Edge is capable of carrying
someone as limited as Batista.
7. Benoit/MVP
I was looking forward to seeing how well Benoit could carry MVP, but
from the start time, I could tell this match would get much time and
still leave any time for Cena/Khali.
8. Cena/Khali
The video and audio both came back. Everyone must have not wanted
to see Khali/Cena. LOL. Cena's had a couple good matches, but I
don't think *anyone* is capable of carrying Khali to a watchable
match. That said, for a match given as much time as this was--this
was a lot better than it had any right to be. And the crowd was
into it the whole time. Being the "best match of Khali's career" is
similar to being the "best smelling piece of fecal matter".
Until next time, this has been OttoBlog.
