= = = = = = = = = = [ WCW ] = = = = = = = = = = Johnny B Badd has apparently re-signed with WCW. I haven't heard when his new contract expires, but I'll take it as good news. As has been reported by everyone else, Cactus Jack is filing a lawsuit against WCW for his ear. As I reported previously, WCW's lease at Center Stage expired. They are now doing something close to what I suggested on RSPW a week or so back: taping every week at house shows. I suggested holding the taping the same night/location as the Monday Nitros (tape three hours: one of Nitro live and two of WCWSN to be broadcast the following weekend). They are taping every Wednesday, giving themselves only three days for post-production. At least it'll keep the storylines more "fresh". Paul "Andre Jr" Wight was trained by Terry Taylor, DDP, and The Assassin. He is now good friends with Hogan (outside of wrestling). After his first year of college he was treated (here in Minnesota) for acromegaly, the same disease that Andre the Giant had. = = = = = = = = = = [ WWF ] = = = = = = = = = = At most of the house shows, Goldust gets out of a superplex attempt by kissing Savio Vega (who is filling in for Razor, one of about six regular no-shows on the tour) on the lips. Razor plans to work the WWF tour of Europe. Vince wants him to job cleanly to everyone in the WWF after the tour. If he doesn't, he may not get paid for matches earlier this year. If McMahon can come close to what WCW offers him, he will probably stay in the WWF. Otherwise he'll be in WCW in June. I haven't heard it from any *reliable* sources, but I've been told that the WWF made a statement on Prodigy that "Kevin Nash is leaving the WWF, not Diesel, as we own that character. We wish Kevin Nash well in the future." Gone: Isaac Yankem, Mo, Mabel === WRESTLEMANIA === Most sources are still reporting Ultimate Warrior vs HHH, but the clues all seem to point to UW vs Goldust from what little WWF I've watched. I see lots of posts that WCW will have a free card opposite WrestleMania, but have yet to see it on Herb's list of upcoming mega-cards. There still seems to be lots of talk about Heenen jumping to the WWF in time for WrestleMania (which is why WCW is bringing in Lee Marshall). Anyone know when Heenen's contract is up? = = = = = = = = = = [ ECW ] = = = = = = = = = = ECW should start airing (again) in April on *ALL* Prime Sports Networks. Look for it on Friday nights at midnight or 1:00 AM. I'll believe it when I see it (which I won't, as the PSN that used to serve Minnesota went out of business). ECW will also run on MediaOne in Atlanta, GA Tuesday at 9:00 PM. NWA Vice President Eugene Moore challenged (then) ECW champion Sandman to face NWA champion Dan Severn to a shoot cage match where the losing promotion loses their license to promote (as well as having a ton of cash on the line). ECW chickened out. :-) = = = = = = = = = = [ MISC ] = = = = = = = = = = 24-26 February 1996 ratings: Raw = 3.1 Action Zone = 1.3 WWF Mania = 1.6 Nitro = 3.2 Nitro Repeat = 1.0 WCWSN = 2.8 WCW pro = 1.4 WCWME = 1.8 I don't remember if I posted this idea or just thought that I did :-) but I think it would be a great idea for SNM (someone, not me) to maintain a list of when wrestlers' contracts expire. This would be nice for when rumors of Flair jumping to the WWF (for example) get posted we can see how valid it is. The only ones I can think of right now (and none of these are exact, just close): Brian Pillman......4/96 Razor Ramon........5/96 Diesel.............6/96 Hulk Hogan.........4/97 $4,000,000/year Eddy Guerrero......1/98 Chris Benoit.......2/98 $ 125,000/year Dean Malenko.......2/98 Eric Bischoff......2/99 $ 250,000 to 500,000/year Injuries: Jeff Jarrett.......Another 30 days Psycho Sid.........Retired Diesel.............on and off Yokozuna...........on and off Undertaker.........on and off Pancrase will air their first US PPV in April 1996. Price is $9.95. For Torch subscription info, write to Wade Keller This week has another nice installment of Wade's interview with Konnan and a good article on the 4th quarter TBS financial report.
