I'm not sure why they didn't just download the latest codec from Microsoft's web site.
The heels won the first fall (which in 99% of the matches of the last 40 years means the other team will win the match) and the faces won the next three falls (guess it was "best of five", though they never announced the stipulations).
The Japanese girls lose, so the face faction heads to the pyramid to loot the treasure. Don't they know you can't get rich off a pyramid scheme?
They show a flashback to when the Aztec guy was buried alive in a tomb, but never explained how he got wrapped in mummy wrap between that time and now.
When they remove the golden breastplate, the mummy is awakened (three-quarters of the way into the movie) and he's mad.
The mummy can apparently turn into a bat at will (which comes in handy for getting him from the tomb to the girls' apartment without having to hail a cab) and can't handle sunlight. Aren't they getting their horror movies mixed up?
The Japanese guy sends his Black Dragon gang to grab the breast plate that the faces stole from the tomb, but the mummy chokes them all out. The mummy is immune to bullets, and the heels were too stupid to run away once they realized this.
The next day, the blonde and her boyfriend in the secret service decide to go back to the pyramid and return the breastplate. Once inside, the two get split up so the guy decides to exit the pyramid, get in his car, and leave her. Sounds like a heel turn to me.
He gets the other two girls, the other two guys, and they all head back to the pyramid, where the mummy has put the blonde on the sacrificial alter and is about to impale her. The mummy alternately turns into a bat and then a tarantula (no one thinks about stepping on the little spider).
They eventually tie him up in chains to a pillar, leave the breast plate , and exit the pyramid. The mummy is too stupid to realize he could turn into a bat or a spider to escape the chains, so he powers out, causing the cavern to collapse when he rips the pillar out.
Just like Doctor of Doom, there are no subtitles and the only language is the dubbed English. I'm sure there are people who would prefer to be able to switch over to a Spanish track, but this was just fine with me. The dialog was spoken well enough that I don't think I missed anything.
I'm actually curious how they could have turned this into a musical. But not enough to rent it again.
